| Youth Parliament provides students with an opportunity to participate in parliamentary-style debates, discussions, and decision-making activities. It simulates the functioning of the Indian Parliament and helps students develop leadership qualities, confidence, communication skills, civic awareness, and an understanding of democratic values and parliamentary procedures. Through active participation, students gain practical insights into governance, public issues, and the functioning of a democratic system.
In Kendriya Vidyalayas, Youth Parliament is organized every year at three levels—Regional, Zonal, and National. The programme aims to familiarize students with the functioning of the parliamentary system in India and encourage them to express their views on contemporary issues in a constructive and democratic manner. Five teams participate at each level of the competition. The School Youth Parliament provides a meaningful platform for students to discuss important educational and social issues. The programme concludes with a spirit of enthusiasm, optimism, and responsibility, encouraging students to think critically and contribute positively to discussions on matters concerning the future of education. The diverse ideas and perspectives presented during the session highlight the importance of youth participation in shaping an inclusive, progressive, and effective education system. |
